The release this week of the 2025 Point-in-Time Count (PIT) count of homelessness in San Diego County by the Regional Task Force on Homelessness (RTFH) showed a 7% drop in homelessness in the region, and a 2% drop in Escondido, which continues to have slightly more than 300 unsheltered residents.
