Jesus has been in TYA for 2 years West is a senior at El Camino High school. He has been experiencing
homelessness since last year. Jesus couch surfs with friends and financially supports himself. Mom was
unable to financially support her kids including Jesus and his older sister. Mom informed kids they
needed to move out and find housing on their own. However, mom allows Jesus to occasionally stay at
her house. Jesus has struggled with transportation which was an obstacle to come to last year however
due to his resilience and the support provided to him, he was able to get to school. Jesus is on track for
graduation and is focused and motivated on finding employment this year in either the fast food
industry or in retail. His goal after graduation is to attend Cosmetology school or going into community
college for business and then transferring to a four-year college.
