Interfaith houses 34 families in two-bedroom, two bath apartments. As residents, families confront and break down the barriers that have blocked them from attaining self-sufficiency through financial literacy and life skills training, vocational and educational planning, and individual, as well as family therapy. With a balance of personalized instruction and encouragement, each aspect of the program is designed to empower families and help them to overcome obstacles and attain self-sufficiency.
Family Housing Success Story After months of homelessness, Michelle came to Family Housing after completing an in-patient drug treatment program. With no income and a drug history, Michelle was unable to find housing or employment. Michelle enrolled in school, learned new business skills, expunged her criminal record and attained full time employment. She also learned to manage her income and make payments toward past debt to clean her credit. She has since regained custody of her son, and her family has strengthened their bond through family therapy. Michelle has secured Section-8 housing and says, “I would do anything for the Family Housing program. I would not be where I am now if it wasn’t for Interfaith."
