Q: How many people does Interfaith Community Services help?
A: Last year Interfaith Community Services was able to provide services to more than 26,000 individuals at least one time.

Q: Who does Interfaith Community Services serve?
A: Interfaith serves multiple populations including the homeless, low wage earners, veterans, seniors, high-risk youth, families, the mentally ill, and those with drug and alcohol addicitions.

Q: How do clients find Interfaith Community Services?
A: Clients are referred to us by faith centers, community members, their friends and family, community partners, government agencies, hospitals, law enforcement, and other nonprofit agencies.

Q: How is Interfaith Community Services funded?
A: Interfaith receives assistance from a variety of sources including faith communities, foundations, corporations, service clubs, individuals, and government. The breakdown is as follows: 45% community support/private sources, 44% government grants, and 6% operational (such as rents and fees), and 5% Endowment and Long-term Investments.

Q: Is there a convenient way to donate monthly to Interfaith Community Services?
A: Most banks have a way that you can initiate a monthly donation through their bill paying service. They will automatically send Interfaith a check each month for whatever amount you authorize. Or if you prefer to donate by credit card or debit, you can enroll in a monthly donation by clicking on the DONATE NOW button to the left of your screen.

Q: How can I arrange for donations in memory of a family member who just passed away?
A: Give us the name of your family member who passed away and the name and address of the person who should receive notification of the gifts. Then, ask people to send their donations to Interfaith and to write "In memory of ........" in the memo line of their check. The donor will receive a thank you letter/tax receipt and the family of the deceased will receive a card notifying them of the donation. The amount of the gift is not revealed.

Q: How much of my gift will be used to help people in need?
A: 87.2% of gifts recieved are used for people in need. This is much higher than the national average of 75%. This means that the majority of your dollars are going directly to helping your North County neighbors in need.

Q: Is Interfaith Community Services a national organization?
A: No. North County Interfaith Council dba Interfaith Community Services (Interfaith) was started in 1979 by a diverse group of faith communities (Anglican to Zen Buddhist) in North Inland San Diego County wanting to pool their resources together to help individuals and families in need. We have locations in Escondido, Poway, Pauma Valley, San Marcos, Vista, and Oceanside. Interfaith is not associated with any other organizations around the country.

Q: Can someone explain to my faith center/service club/school group/neighborhood what Interfaith Community Services is about?
A: Interfaith's Speaker's Bureau is available to speak to any interested group. Appointments must be made with 10-14 day's notice to Christine Vaughan, Public Relations Coordinator.
