Emergency Services

Located in the city of Oceanside
Social services staff and volunteers provide emergency walk-in services Monday through Friday from 9am until 11:45am and again from 1pm until 3:45pm; services are unavailable on the first Friday of each month.  Volunteer intake workers provide basic assessments, referrals, and basic needs services to clients requesting assistance. Services provided may include non-perishable food assistance, clothing vouchers, transportation vouchers or tokens, and assistance with identification cards, among other services.  Case managers are able to provide assistance by appointment only with past due utility bills and rental assistance during certain times of the year.

Food Pantry

Located in the city of Oceanside
A food pantry operates out of both the Escondido headquarters, as well as the coastal service center. Both locations provide dry goods items that are donated from food drives by local faith centers, individuals, service clubs, corporations and schools. Food is dispensed to individuals and families on an emergency basis, providing a three-day supply of food. In addition, the individuals and families in our ongoing case management and housing programs benefit from more frequent services from the food pantry.

Social Services Success Story

John recent returned from Iraq with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. He is taking medication, and has been unable to work. He is awaiting benefits from the Veterans Administration. His wife works full-time, but she does not make enough to cover all of their bills on her own. She has done the best she can with the resources available to provide for John and their 16-year-old daughter. While waiting for financial support as a veteran, Interfaith was able to assist the family with rental assistance so they would not lose their home. In addition, Interfaith was able to provide them with a voucher from SDG&E to pay their bill.
